- ➤ Residents in Fort Myers Beach opposed Fly Heli’s use of a floating barge for training flights near Bowditch Point Park on January 14, citing noise and wildlife concerns; however, the advisory board noted officials lack legal power to enforce relocation since the FAA (federal aviation authority) regulates flights. - ➤ Some Like It Hot runs through Jan.18 at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Center, mixing classic film with modern twists and a big-band score. - ➤ Lee County Schools celebrated a historic milestone as the Class of 2025 earned a record 89.8% graduation rate across the district, with 15 traditional schools and Lee Virtual School reaching 95.3% and Fort Myers High and North Fort Myers High achieving 99% amid the lowest-ever 1.5% dropout rate.
