- ➤ On Saturday, Jan. 17, FGCU hosted its 11th annual Laces of Love shoe drive at Alico Arena as FGCU alum Chris Sale and his family led efforts to collect shoes for kids in need across Collier County; donations continue to be accepted. ABC7
- ➤ Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary will host a free event on Jan. 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. where visitors explore the swamp and honor Ed Carlson, a long-time Audubon warden who spent nearly 40 years protecting its wildlife. WGCU
- ➤ Haven on Earth Animal League in Fort Myers will host its first Cat Walk on Feb. 7 at Pelican Preserve Town Center. Participants can choose a one-, two- or three-mile route and join raffles, games and auctions to support the TNR program that helps over 800 cats. WINK News
