- ➤ RSW airport security expert Richard Kolko warned travelers today about scams including juice jacking (charging cables that install malware) and fake Wi-Fi networks. He advised visitors to use personal chargers and credit cards instead of debit cards to secure their data. WINK News
- ➤ Former WINK meteorologist Matt Devitt is unable to post weather updates on Facebook because Meta’s verification rules keep his page labeled with WINK, plus he plans to rename his page and resume forecasts once the badge expires mid-February. The News-Press
- ➤ Yesterday, First Bank donated $38,685 to Harry Chapin Food Bank — which will use the funds to provide over 77,000 meals to local families. The donation supports food programs in the Fort Myers area and across Southwest Florida. The News-Press
- ➤ The Friends of the Library will host its book sale on Jan. 31 & Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library garage, offering bags for $10. An annual meeting on Jan. 24 with guest Monica Lynn will include free refreshments. Beach Talk Radio
