- ➤ The Laboratory Theatre in Fort Myers is partnering with Theatre Conspiracy to present August Wilson's Two Trains Running today at 7:30 p.m. at its venue off Woodford Ave (tickets cost $37 standard, $10 for students, and $32 on Thrifty Thursday) with additional performances scheduled for March 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7. - ➤ At JetBlue Park at Fenway South, nearly 1,000 students from Gateway Charter, Cape Coral Charter, Thrive Academy, and Crestwell School experienced a STEM Day fair that offered hands-on science, technology, engineering and math activities. Meteorologist Zach Maloch explained how weather affects baseball during an interactive Q&A session. WINK News

- ➤ Freddie Mac reports that the average rate on a 30-year mortgage dropped below 6% this week at 5.98%—a change that could help Fort Myers residents looking to buy a home. WINK News

- ➤ On Tuesday, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will consider an ordinance to ban smoking and vaping on town-owned beaches (smoking is already prohibited inside town buildings). A second public hearing is set for April 6 if the proposal moves forward. Beach Talk Radio
- ➤ Lee County officials have begun testing the Matlacha Pass drawbridge to restore normal operations after Hurricane Ian disrupted service, ensuring safe passage for both boats & drivers. The testing is a key step toward returning the drawbridge to regular use. The News-Press
- ➤ Alligator Alley reopened after being closed Wednesday due to smoke from a fire in Big Cypress National Preserve. State troopers reported that the I-75 stretch from mile marker 80 in Collier (to mile marker 23 in Broward) is now open despite nearly 25,000 acres burning. ABC7
