- ➤ A manatee rescue crew is at Orange Harbor getting ready to extricate a subadult male (showing signs of cold stress and a non-healing cut) from the waterway. - ➤ F23, the mother eagle of the well-loved North Fort Myers nest, has been missing since Friday morning and wildlife officials are monitoring the situation. - ➤ Lee County leaders considered extending the countywide burn ban Tuesday as dry conditions kept wildfire risks high near Fort Myers despite some rainfall. The ban, if extended, would have lasted 30 days with possible seven-day increments if conditions remained risky. NBC2
- ➤ The Florida House passed a bill (HB 1279) to cap international student enrollment at public universities on March 3; the measure now heads to the Senate and is unlikely to become law as top schools risk losing research funding. The News-Press
