EDUCATION NEWS

  • The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer a NASBLA-approved boating safety course in Fort Myers later this spring from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., costing $45 (students under 17 can join free with an adult) so boaters learn safe navigation, emergency response, and proper gear use.  WINK News

  • Today, photojournalist Jonah Hinebaugh captured a raging wildfire from the State Road 29 overpass intersecting I-75 at 2:37 p.m. He adjusted his camera settings to deal with mixed lighting as smoke blended with sunlight, using passing vehicles to show the fire’s vast scale.  The News-Press
