- ➤ Fort Myers jewelry store owner Greg Cerio said video shows five masked suspects trying to break in on Cleveland and Colonial today but they fled when a bulletproof door held firm—damage to the door and window may cost thousands and officials suspect the same group was involved in earlier break-ins, prompting Cerio to urge anyone with information to contact FMPD. - ➤ A Fort Myers general contracting company sued the city after officials rejected its protest on February 25 regarding the bid process for work on the historic Rachel at the Well project on McGregor Boulevard—alleging that city officials did not follow their own procurement procedures or Florida law. The lawsuit asks a judge to delay any new bids or contract awards until the protest can be properly reviewed. ABC7

- ➤ Colorectal cancer — the third most common cancer in the U.S. and a leading cause of cancer deaths — is often preventable with regular screenings that find early changes, and experts say people ages 45 to 75 should adopt healthy habits like exercise and a balanced diet to lower their risk.
