- ➤ After a video went viral showing a Seminole Gulf Railway officer snapping the fishing rod of two boys caught trespassing near Russell Park, William Dunn from the Tampa-based nonprofit Take-A-Kid Fishing drove to Tice on Sunday and donated new rods, lures, and hats. The boys said they learned their lesson and will avoid railroad tracks as they plan to fish in Tampa soon. ABC7

- ➤ Little Sicily, a pizza restaurant on Six Mile Cypress Parkway, was named best pizza in Lee County by reader votes in The News-Press bracket challenge, and owner Joey Basile said the win reflects years of hard work and family tradition in making fresh, quality pies.
