- ➤ Alexis Leblanc crashed her truck on Cape Coral Parkway and Pelican Boulevard in March and underwent an emergency C-section to save her baby, Jasper, who is now recovering in the neonatal intensive care unit while she remains at home and will not walk for at least three months. ABC7

- ➤ The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting at Carlton Luxury Apartments after officers swarmed the complex late Thursday, placed yellow caution around a Black Chevy Malibu in the parking lot, and cleared the scene at 5 a.m. on Friday while a forensics team processed evidence, with no further details on additional injuries or suspects released. - ➤ A Fort Myers couple pleaded guilty last April and was sentenced on Friday to eight years and one month for Timothy Craig Jolloff and three years for Lisa Ann Jolloff for wire fraud, bank fraud & illegal monetary transactions in a COVID relief fraud case. The judge ordered the Jolloffs to pay $3.4 million in restitution & forfeit the same amount in proceeds. WGCU

- ➤ The Lee County School Board voted on April 11 at 7:59 a.m. EDT to change 50 job descriptions and cut central office roles from 59 to 40—moves approved with a 7 to 0 vote that aimed to save about $1 million. The board also approved the Safe Start Initiative, which will set high schools to start at 7 a.m., K-8 schools to start at 7:30 a.m., other elementary schools to start at 8:40 a.m. and middle schools to start at 9:45 a.m.—despite concerns from some staff and parents.
