- ➤ Fort Myers Police Department is hosting Respect For Law Camp at Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School from June 11-14 for kids aged 10-14. - ➤ FEMA allocated $41 million for flood mitigation projects along the Gulf Coast—$3 million is set for Fort Myers to fund backup power systems and engineering projects to reduce downtown flooding. Local business leaders say the measures will help prepare the city for future storms. ABC7
- ➤ Lee County Parks & Recreation will improve the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp with a concrete block mat to curb erosion from boat loading & unloading. Work starts after a barge arrives May 6 and lasts four weeks, temporarily closing the center dock and one ramp side while parking remains open. WGCU
