  • Four teenagers face charges after luring a man into a rental apartment in southeast Cape Coral on May 6 and robbing him at gunpoint, with police saying one suspect used the victim’s cellphone to send 54 dollars via CashApp—school resource officers later helped identify the minors following a traffic stop of a black Nissan linked to one suspect’s family.  The News-Press
  • Fort Myers police arrested David Thurman, 61, on May 12 after a tip that he was loitering outside a 7-Eleven—he is charged with second-degree murder for the March 16 killing of Vely Jean-Pierre, 67, with arraignment set for June 16.  The News-Press

  • The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for 47 year old boater Dave Coleman who was last seen leaving Charlotte Harbor on Friday aboard the 40 foot sailing vessel Colenett bound for the Florida Keys — anyone with information is asked to call Coast Guard Southeast at 305 415 6800.  ABC7

  • Lee Health is offering a free six-week virtual workshop for people with chronic pain that starts Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon. The program teaches ways to manage pain, stress and exercise while giving participants a free book—Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Pain.  WINK News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency unanimously approved plans Tuesday to rebuild The Salty Crab, an iconic beachfront restaurant knocked down by Hurricane Ian—pending further rezoning approval by the Town Council. The project targets late 2026 for completion and proposes a two-story building with a ground-level ice cream shop and adjusted setback and parking requirements at its longtime location.  Beach Observer and Beach Bulletin

  • More than 200 top high school and junior hockey players gathered at Hertz Arena this weekend for the Matterhorn Fit All-Ivy Showcase—an event that mixed tough games with on-ice feedback from 25 college coaches.
