- ➤ Volunteers gathered Saturday morning at Memorial Gardens to honor fallen veterans by placing flags at their graves. A ceremony will begin Monday at 9:30 a.m. with a U.S. Coast Guard flyover—Lee Health is also recruiting volunteers for flag placement at Hodges and City cemeteries. WINK News

- ➤ A brush fire ignited today in Gateway near a golf course by Southwest Florida International Airport and firefighters using ground crews and aerial support quickly controlled the blaze while officials confirmed flight operations remained unaffected and the cause is under investigation. ABC7
- ➤ A community gathered to mourn 14-year-old Nestor, who died when a truck hit him while he was riding his bike on Palm Beach Boulevard on Thursday—his friends have set up donation boxes at a local market to help cover his funeral costs and repatriate his body to Guatemala. WINK News

- ➤ Authorities confirmed that the body of missing Cape Coral woman Brenda Corbin, reported missing on May 20 from the 2700 block of Southeast 18th Avenue, was found near Bermont Road and Chiquita Drive in Charlotte County (her next of kin were notified) as Cape Coral detectives lead the investigation (with help from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission).
