- ➤ A San Carlos woman, Hannah Wheeler, 24, is wanted after she skipped a court-ordered drug treatment program and violated her 36-month probation when officers found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop (she is 5 ft 4 in, weighs about 160 lbs, and has tattoos including 'Mindy' on her forehead and 'San Carlos' on her right arm) and she will be held without bond upon arrest. - ➤ On Sunday morning, Fort Myers police detained one person at 9:15 a.m. near the intersection of Palm Beach Boulevard and Oasis Grand Boulevard during a busy scene—further details about the incident remain pending. ABC7
- ➤ A Fort Myers woman with a record of theft, drug use and battery is wanted after allegedly stealing her friend's credit cards, checkbook, Social Security card and birth certificate then driving off in a stolen car — she was arrested, served two months and violated her probation — and now faces three active warrants for petit theft and possession of a controlled substance. - ➤ Surveillance cameras captured Yanko Romero, a suspect in a deadly condo shooting, as he hopped the fence of the WINK News building in Fort Myers at 8:53 a.m., dropped a blue tarp to reveal a gun, and fled into the mangroves before police arrested him within ten minutes—local officials confirmed that no employees were endangered. - ➤ Collier County Mosquito Control is giving away free mosquitofish to help local residents fight off mosquitoes this summer—fish will be distributed at events on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings through August, starting with a giveaway at Baker Park on June 11 from 6-8 p.m. Residents can also get fish by appointment year-round from the agency’s office.
