- ➤ Seniors aged 65 and up can adopt or foster a cat or dog at no cost through Gulf Coast Humane Society's Silver Paws VIP program—which pays for exams, shots, treatments and end-of-life care. The program, available for seniors living at home or in assisted living, has led to 12 adoptions and 2 fosters since January 1. The News-Press

- ➤ A 9-year-old girl bitten by a shark off Boca Grande regained finger movement after surgery at Tampa General Hospital on June 11 where doctors used pins to hold her broken bones and transferred leg arteries to restore blood flow; she will now begin physical therapy to help her hand recover. - ➤ A man accused of shooting 25-year-old Alex Johnson in an unprovoked Fort Myers attack is due in court at 8:30 a.m. today—he is also tied to a Michigan murder and an alleged jail beating. WINK News
- ➤ Lee County deputies are searching for 15-year-old Chrisette Bostic, a missing and endangered girl last seen wearing a black jacket with letters KTB, lime green shorts and black shoes — anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at 239-477-1000 or SWFL Crime Stoppers. Fox 4
- ➤ Lee County deputies are searching for endangered 31-year-old John Leonard Fenton, who was last seen driving a Ford Transit Connect with license plate CABMAN and wearing blue shorts and a light colored T-shirt—call the sheriff’s office or SWFL Crime Stoppers if you have information. Fox 4

- ➤ Love Your Rebellion hosted the first night of the 8th annual Babefest at Nice Guys Pizza in Cape Coral on Friday, where North Carolina band Babe Haven performed with Except You, Peace Cult and CAAM. The festival celebrated femme, queer and POC musicians and included a second night in Tampa — organizers plan to hold next year’s event at their new location if it is ready. WINK News

- ➤ Lee Health is building a new 236-bed medical campus in Fort Myers — planned with private rooms for better care — and will open it soon while also expanding services in Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, and South Lee County to meet growing demand.
