The Lee County Sheriff's Office reported that one person was trauma-alerted in an overnight crash at Bell Boulevard South and Manhattan Street East in Lehigh Acres—both lanes on Bell Boulevard remained closed until they reopened at 7 a.m.

On Tuesday a man was hurt in a sudden attack at a Bonita Springs gas station when 26-year-old Joel Duron charged with a box cutter—security footage shows him stabbing the man before he fled in his box truck and was caught minutes later.

Today the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce Water Foundation unveiled its new Public Water Quality Monitoring Station at The Mound House on Connecticut Street, providing local residents with real-time water quality data.

The station was developed with support from the Town of Fort Myers Beach and the Florida Gulf Coast University Water School—funded by the ROSE Grant Program.
