- ➤ A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 carrying 185 passengers and six crew made an emergency landing at RSW on Monday at 8:48 a.m. after a passenger’s personal battery caught fire mid-flight—flight attendants quickly extinguished the flames and no injuries were reported. WINK News

- ➤ Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille donated $7,500 to the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation during its inaugural National Yucatán Shrimp Day 7K race on May 24. - ➤ Town of Fort Myers Beach Manager Will McKannay said contractors from Ahtna Marine and Construction now expect to finish the beach renourishment project by the end of July after missing the June 30 target due to equipment failures and weather delays—workers are continuing work in parts of the beach while efforts protect nesting shorebirds and sea turtles.
