- ➤ Deputies rescued an elderly couple and their dog from a fully engulfed mobile home fire in North Fort Myers Tuesday night — the couple received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries while the pet was safely carried out. Fox 4
- ➤ A 21-year-old motorcyclist from Fort Myers sustained injuries after he failed to stop during a Florida Highway Patrol chase on northbound I-75 near State Road 80 — he exited at Exit 141, entered the center median, and collided with a tree — and he was taken to a local hospital as authorities investigate the crash. - ➤ Fort Myers Police said a crash involving a semi and a car occurred Friday at 2:14 a.m. near Colonial Boulevard and Metro Parkway, sending one driver with serious injuries to Gulf Coast Hospital — officers cleared the roads by 6:30 a.m. Fox 4

- ➤ A young bobcat was found in Bonita Springs with a broken leg and paw injuries after it was hit by a car and was treated at Von Arx Wildlife Hospital. It was released near its original spot after months of rehabilitation, with community support from the Conservancy of Southwest Florida and three donors covering the cost plus Arthrex providing a surgical plate. - ➤ Daily downpours have replaced months of dry weather and ended the worst drought in 24 years in Fort Myers, with most areas receiving 10 to 20 inches of rain. Local residents and fire crews welcomed the change — though some noted that heavy rain can cause potholes. WINK News
