CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Charles Custodio tampered with a witness and a juror during his drug trafficking trial when he messaged a juror on Facebook Messenger saying 'not guilty = $50,000' — he was sentenced to five years for tampering with a juror and 20 years for tampering with a witness. ABC7
- ➤ Alfredo Silva Marrero, a Miami man, was convicted in Lee County during a one-day trial on Wednesday for unlicensed contracting work after Hurricane Ian during the state of emergency—he was paid $80,000 and will be sentenced on Aug. 19. ABC7
- ➤ Christopher Ward, who had been sentenced to over 21 years for his role in the 2003 death of Fort Myers Police Officer Daniel Starks during a traffic chase, was given a life sentence today after violating probation by trafficking fentanyl in Lee County. WINK News

- ➤ At the Players Circle Theater in Fort Myers this weekend, singer and banjo player Randy Noojin will perform his one-man tribute show Seeger: The Music of Pete Seeger to honor the folk icon and activist whose songs continue to inspire local fans—he previewed the multimedia presentation on Thursday. - ➤ A juvenile male black bear was seen roaming on McGregor Boulevard last Thursday and was captured near Winkler Road and Sunset Vista Drive by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission with help from the Lee County Sheriff's Office—FWC said the bear will be relocated to a more suitable habitat.
