  • A construction worker died early Saturday morning on I-75 near mile marker 149 when a truck towing a boat trailer failed to yield to road maintenance vehicles painting divider lines — FHP said the incident is under investigation.  Fox 4

  • The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident at a home on the 700 block of Alabama Road in Lehigh Acres—reporting that the scene is contained with no immediate threat to the public.  ABC7

HEALTH NEWS

  • Updated COVID‑19 vaccines have been approved by the FDA for adults 65 and for younger people with health conditions that increase severe illness — conditions including asthma, heart issues, and diabetes — making nearly 100 to 200 million Americans eligible to get vaccinated this fall at local pharmacies and clinics. Local providers are preparing to offer the shots, though some pharmacies in Florida may limit their availability based on state rules.  NBC2
