- ➤ Aurelio's Pizza will open a new location in Estero on Oct. 13 — at 19527 Highland Oaks Drive near Miromar Outlets, and it will offer a free order of breadsticks with every large pizza purchased that day. Owner Mark Lichtman plans to expand the popular chain along Florida's west coast while keeping the quality his customers love. The News-Press

- ➤ Harlem Heights offered music lessons to kids as young as six to build strong brain pathways and learn teamwork—efforts that the New England Board of Higher Education said can have a lifelong impact. The program gave children in an underserved community a positive creative outlet. WGCU

- ➤ San Carlos Park Fire District opened Station 55, a new 7600 square foot fire station built to withstand hurricanes and house three full-time firefighters on Oak Center Lane — a facility designed to reduce response times to about six minutes as local growth increases calls for service.
