The National Hurricane Center in Miami is monitoring two weak low-pressure areas—one near the Bahamas that may bring heavy rain to parts of southern Florida and another over the north-central Gulf—and a tropical wave over the Atlantic showing disorganized showers.

The tropical wave has a 50% chance of forming into a tropical depression by mid next week and, if it strengthens, will be named Jerry.

The Babcock Ranch community held the Pink Glow 5K on Saturday to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
