CULTURE NEWS

  • Yesterday, theater fans enjoyed the season opening with a musical comedy at Florida Repertory Theatre in downtown Fort Myers and a pre-show reception for Pretty Woman at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. Upcoming shows include Grey House running until Nov. 2nd, Steel Magnolias until Nov. 15th and Rumors from Oct. 21st—each adding to the strong local arts lineup.  Florida Weekly

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic, known as Invest 97L, showed a 50% chance to develop over the next seven days and a 40% chance in the next 48 hours—meteorologists expect it to become a tropical depression by midweek and be named Lorenzo if it strengthens. Stay tuned as the Gulf Coast Storm Team tracks its progress through the hurricane season.  ABC7
