- ➤ Fire crews responded overnight to a house fire near Southwest 5th Place off Gleason Parkway in Cape Coral—one person was airlifted to the hospital while a dog, a cat, and a kitten were rescued and other pets remain missing. WINK News
- ➤ Archives show that animal attacks in Collier County have ranged from a fatal black bear incident this year to severe encounters with sharks, alligators, tigers, and boars over the past decades—each event causing injuries, hospitalizations, or death and marking a unique record of wildlife encounters in the region.
