- ➤ The Fort Myers Beach Kids Foundation will host a pickleball tournament at Bay Oaks on November 15th—participants can register for giveaways even if they do not attend in person. Beach Talk Radio
- ➤ Residents and visitors in Fort Myers can look forward to LeeTran’s free seasonal trolley and tram services that will return on Nov. 20. The Blue and Gold Lines will run downtown while the Fort Myers Beach tram will offer rides every 30-40 minutes from (8:20 a.m. to 10:55 p.m.) and fixed route changes will improve service. WINK News

- ➤ The 53rd annual Fort Myers Boat Show will take over downtown Fort Myers from Nov. 13 to Nov. 16, featuring about 40 local dealers and 100 boat manufacturers displaying a wide range of boats and marine accessories — visitors will also find boating safety booths, lectures, and live music in Centennial Park. - ➤ Florida SouthWestern State College will host a series of educational events on Nov. 10 at its Lee Campus, Room U-102 in Fort Myers to commemorate Kristallnacht—featuring a history overview at 1:30 p.m., a live survivor talk with 90-year-old Steen Metz at 3 p.m., and sessions on legal and cultural impacts. - ➤ Lee County School District has launched a safety program that installs over 650 cameras on school buses to catch drivers who illegally pass stopped buses. The school district, Sheriff's Office and Bus Patrol are starting a 30-day warning period before a $225 fine is enforced—fighting dangerous driving behavior after December 8. Fox 4
- ➤ Work continues on the new Big Carlos bridge — which connects the south end of Fort Myers Beach to Lovers Key and Bonita Beach — and it will open on Nov.14. The News-Press
- ➤ Road closures will affect Cape Coral for the Veterans Day Parade on November 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Cape Coral Parkway between Cape Coral Street and Chester Street — drivers should use caution and plan alternate routes. Midpoint Bridge will close for the Midpoint Madness Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk on November 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. — travelers are advised to use an alternate crossing. WGCU

- ➤ Sixteen Southwest Florida high school football teams earned playoff spots when the FHSAA released the brackets on Nov. 6, and five first-round matchups are set for later this season. Local district champions including Community School of Naples, SFCA, and Riverdale will face teams from Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Naples — raising expectations for a competitive postseason.
