  • Firefighters from the South Trail Fire Protection Rescue Service District rescued six freshly hatched ducklings from the roof of Park Crest at the Lakes Apartments in Fort Myers on Nov. 23 after residents heard chirping from the apartment soffit — prompting the rescue.   • Families lined Evans Avenue in Fort Myers on Sunday for Pendas Law Firm’s 17th annual turkey giveaway—helping families face hardship after a 43-day government shutdown.
