  • The Fort Myers Skatium will host Miracle on Broadway on Dec. 5 from 5 to 9 p.m.—the free holiday event features Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, skating, bounce houses, games, train rides and a preview of the Holly Jolly Spectacular Ice Show at 7:30 p.m. Free skating is offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m.  WGCU

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Most local grocers will be closed on Thanksgiving except for a few stores as Bravo Supermarkets is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and The Fresh Market is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.—with Sprouts, Whole Foods, selected CVS locations, and 24-hour Walgreens offering modified hours for last-minute shoppers.  The News-Press
  • At Nonchalance Eatery and Wine Bar in Fort Myers, owners Daniel Keagins and Sarah Moonien-Klink create a friendly wine tasting space with over 50 selections paired with comfort food and a family-run approach—where daughter Riley greets guests and son Gavin leads on dishes—. The restaurant will open Wednesday through Saturday and will host themed dinners that help guests choose wines without feeling overwhelmed—adding a relaxed, inventive twist to dining.  WINK News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Winners were announced at the 35th Annual American Sand Sculpting Championships held at the Diamond Head Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach on November 24, 2025 — Todd Pangborn won the masters division with John Gowdy and Matthew Deibert finishing second and third — and Ferenc Monostori earned the sculptor's choice award while Remy Hoggard won the speed sculpting event.  The News-Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Electric vehicle owners in Lehigh Acres say they struggle to find a nearby charging station, with drivers forced to travel over 9 miles and wait more than 23 minutes to reach a charger. FPL said it will add more fast chargers in the greater Fort Myers area—leaving Lehigh Acres without a direct plan for new installations.  WINK News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • RSW officials noted that parking lots filled quickly after Nov. 21 and will remain busy until Nov. 26, so travelers need to allow extra time for parking and traffic. They advised arriving at least two hours early for domestic flights and three hours for international trips and offered the remote lot—RSWRemote—at a flat $60 fee.  The News-Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • During the week of Nov. 17th to 23rd, inspectors reviewed Lee County restaurants and found nine had perfect scores while 16 failed due to significant health violations—some of which passed follow-up inspections within the week. The report noted issues like unsanitized dish machines and improper food storage, with inspections carried out by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.  The News-Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • The 8th annual Fort Myers Tip-Off College basketball tournament began Monday with 16 teams—eight men’s and eight women’s—set to compete through Saturday, and a Thanksgiving Day matchup featuring Michigan State and North Carolina will air on FOX. The opening game between Bowling Green State and Bucknell drew fans from Ohio, and the women’s tournament will start this weekend.  ABC7
  • The Florida Southwestern Bucs were swept by Miami Dade in the NJCAA Volleyball National Championship on November 24—ending their chance at a fourth straight title and marking the loss of their national champion status.  ABC7
