- ➤ Salvation Army in Fort Myers will break ground on Dec. 16 at 9 a.m. at the corner of Central Ave and Willard St to start a five-year Center of Hope campus that will offer supportive housing, a public shelter (for crises) and life recovery services as the community grows. - ➤ On Dec. 3, RSW (Southwest Florida International Airport) in Fort Myers reached a milestone when its final structural beam was placed on the new Concourse E, completing the structure phase of its historic expansion. The project will add 14 gates and key improvements and is set to finish by Dec. 2027. The News-Press
